The styrene-based dye FM 4-64 has been reported to selectively fluoresce with red (max. excitation/emission wavelength ∼515/640 nm) to stain the yeast tonoplast. This lipophilic dye is an important tool for observing vacuolar organelle morphology and dynamics, studying endocytic pathways, and screening and characterizing yeast endocytosis mutants. FM 4-64 is also available in a special package of 10 vials of 100 µg each (T-13320).
